Welcome to Mrs. Blocker's 1st Grade Class!

Welcome to First Grade! We are starting a new year and I am so excited to have your child in my class! First Grade offers a program that provides your child with the appropriate activities based on the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. First Grade focuses on the critical skills of reading, writing, science, and math. Parent involvement and support are vital to each child's success.

Attendance

Regular attendance at school is essential for your child to obtain the maximum benefit from the First Grade program. It is also important for your child to arrive at school on time and stay until dismissal. The late bell rings at 9:10 and dissmisal at 3:30. If your child is absent please send in a signed and dated note explaining the absence. If your child is going home a different way then usual, you MUST send in a signed and dated note explaining the change.

Lunch

Lunches may be paid for with cash or checks made out to Inverness Primary School or paid online. Lunches may be paid daily, weekly, or monthly. Lunch money that is sent to school should be in an envelope with your child's name on it. Breakfast: $.85 or $.30 for reduced. Lunch: $1.90 or $.40 for reduced. Please send in a filled water bottle for your child to bring outside.

Toys

We understand that children's toys and stuffed animals are very special but due to items getting lost or taken, we request that toys of all kinds be left at home. Books are always welcome at school. Please put your child's name on jackets that are brought to school.

Friday Folders and Planners

Every Friday your child will bring home a folder. It will contain completed work, a note from the teacher, or other important papers. Please go through these papers with your child and return the folder on Monday. Planners come home daily and need to be signed and returned the next day. Homework packets come home on Mondays and are due back on Fridays or sooner if completed.
