Classroom Management
We
use a money based system in our classroom.
Each
student has a "Shape" the following is our
numbering system in our planner and the rewards
or consequences that go along with our behaviors.
Good
Job = a 1 in the student planner and earns
the student .05
Consequences
When
a student has to move their shape down it
is considered a warning. The label this level carries
is "try again," thus students have the opportunity
to turn their selves around. This level earns a 2 in
the planner and the child does not earn any money
for the day.
Moving
to the next level earns the child a 3 in their
planner and a note home. The child needs to pay .05
for their poor choices.
Further
poor choices earn a student a 4 in their
planner and/or time-out in another classroom, phone
call home with the child, a visit to the assistant
principal.

Rewards for Making Wise Choices
A
student can move their shape up during the day
thus earning a 1+ in their planner. This level
"better"earns the student an extra .05 until
we introduce dimes into our math curriculum
and then this level earns .10.
Another
level students could move to is "best" and
this level earns the student another .05 until the
point we introduce .25 into our math curriculum.
Each
student has the opportunity to shop from
the treasure box each Friday. They must earn at
least 4 ones in their planner during the week to be
able to buy from the treasure box on Friday.
Whole Classroom Rewards
Students
have the opportunity to earn
compliments from other adults at school. When
we have achieved 20 compliments we will be able
to choose from a variety of rewards. .We will
vote on our compliment party as a class. Majority
rules.
