Dear Families,

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you all the wonderful activities your child has participated in during the past week.

 

Math :

In math this week we have been working on completing Big Idea 2 chapter 7. Chapter 7 covered factors, multiples and fractions. Your child has completed the chapter 7 assessment. * Please read the special attachment regarding mathematics instruction.

Writing :
This week in writing your child has worked on both expositive and narrative writings. They have also completed the monthly WriteScores writing prompts for the month of January.


Reading : 
We have started a new theme in our Storytown series. The theme this time is “A New Home.” We will be been learning about the importance of participating and knowing our community.

This week we are completing chapter 4. Chapter 4 covers What Living Things Need From Their Environments. We have completed our Unit assessment.
In social studies we continue to study Florida history. We have learned why France and Spain opposed each other.

Upcoming Events :

February 3: Bi-Weekly's go home. *This will be your child's midterm

February 20: No School. School will reopen on Tuesday February 21

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

This letter is sent to inform you that beginning Monday, January 30, 2012 your child will be receiving differentiated math instruction with another teacher. The purpose for this change is to meet your child's math instructional needs.

The teacher's name highlighted below will be responsible for your child's math grade. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact either your child's math and/or homeroom teacher. We will gladly meet with you to discuss any concerns that you may have
