The study of science means understanding the world around us. In order to ensure a high quality of life we must be aware of how our actions affect our lives locally and globally. My goal is for all my students to have an appreciation for Life on planet Earth.

Homework - Study vocabulary daily until test. Reread in the text what we've read and discussed in class. Tests will be given at the end of each unit and students will need to use their notes (work) to study.
Weekly - We will read and have class discussions and do class experiments and/or demonstrations on each lesson. Students will be given a new list of vocabulary words for each chapter/lesson in the science textbook.
Notebook - Students are required to keep all of their science work in their notebook until test day. Students are to keep their Table of Contents for each chapter updated with the correct page numbers as we add work to the notebook. Students will be allowed to use their notebooks during the test. The notebook will be turned in to me on test day and will be graded for completed work.
Science Fair Project - Every 5th grade student must complete a Science Fair Project. An information packet for students and parents will go home by mid-September. This is a graded project and is due by Judging of the projects will take place on the morning of and awards will be presented at our Science Night that evening.
