IPS is an "A" Florida School!
As you know IPS is an “A” school. Along with this designation comes School Recognition monies. At the recent School Advisory Council Meeting, parents, community members, and staff agreed to provide all staff with a bonus and students with a book at our Spring Book Fair using these funds. We appreciate your support each and every day, as we know it takes you working with us at home to produce these results. We’re coming into a very busy season for our families and students. Please try, as much as possible, to keep to the normal routine at school for your child. There are plenty of school holidays planned to allow for family events. While I know that time spent with family is valuable, it is not a good practice to miss school for several days for these events. There are 185 days that we do not have school. Please try to schedule your family events during the half of the year when school is not in session. We also have many changes in dismissal each day for our students. These are all documented and logged as you phone in the changes, however, it is much more secure for you and your child if you send a note that day with any changes. In any case, “phoned in” changes in dismissal must be done before 12:00 noon. Resist the urge to change the procedure simply because “you’re in town.” Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the extra time with your family and friends!
